This well designed resort is situated close to the old capital of Muscat and nestles between a dramatic mountain backdrop and overlooks the spectacular waters of the Gulf of Oman. There are three hotels contained in the resort Al Waha, Al Badar and Al Husn, in ascending levels of luxury respectively.
There are three delightful beaches, numerous swimming pools, an Oman heritage village and the Alo Mazaar Souk. In addition there is the CHI Spa; a sanctuary of personal rejuvenating and relaxation, plus a host of sporting facilities including diving, tennis, health club, watersports and boat and fishing excursions.
Al Husn *** The most exclusive of the three hotels in this resort, Al Husn, "the castle", does not disappoint when it comes to luxury. Designed for the more discerning traveller, the hotel is built on a promontory and surrounds a large imposing, and manicured courtyard. All 170 deluxe rooms and suites have stunning ocean or pool views, extremely generous floor space and are decorated in the style of an Arabian Palace. The rooms marble bathrooms are also notable.A number of facilities and services are reserved for the exclusive use of Al Husn guests, including a private beach area with the Mahhara Beach bar, where a private butler and iPods are available. Sultanah, a striking restaurant, and Shahrazad, an extravagant Morrocan-inspired dining experience, are situated at Al Husn and offer the finest food. Elegant and stylish, these dining options, in keeping with the hotels facilities, are best suited to an adult clientèle. Al Bandar ** Meaning" the town". This area of the resort is inspired by the old architecture of Muscat and conveys a pleasant sense of Arabia and of being in an old city. Rooms are large and comfortable and are embellished by balconies who's ornate design adds to the air of magnificence. There are no less than eight restaurants and bistros to choose from. In total there are 198 luxe and deluxe sea facing rooms decorated in an Arabian style. Suites have a more contemporary feel, offer substantially extra space and overlook the Gulf and luxuriant gardens.

Al Waha * The property is built in typical Dhofari style and has 246 rooms of varying size and style. Most rooms have sea views and all benefit from some outdoor space. For families there are very practical adjoining family rooms. This is principally a family orientated hotel with bags to do for a young family including a lazy river, a gently flowing waterway with inflatables and the excellent Little Turtles Kids Club. Al Waha means "Oasis" so the are plenty of pools which give it all open and alluring appeal.
