Wilson Island is a tiny coral cay that is both part of the Great Barrier Reef and surrounded by it. Its pristine reef and beach environments include rare turtle and bird breeding grounds and accordingly the Lodge is managed with protection of the wildlife and the environment as the primary concern. Those that are drawn to Wilson Island will see natural beauty, the seclusion and the freedom from modern-day living as part of its appeal.
Wilson offers comfortable designer-inspired tented accommodation for a maximum of just 12 guests. Bathrooms are not en suite to the tent, but each tent does have its own designated private shower & dressing area in the Washhouse. Toilets and vanities are also located in this building. The Longhouse is the social centre of the Island and it is here that you may help yourself to drinks and snacks throughout the day as well as enjoy lounging around listening to music, reading, or chatting to other guests. Meals are served communally and the menu changes daily.

On Wilson Island guests are able to enjoy exceptional snorkelling, bird watching, island and reef walks or simply relaxing in a purely natural setting. Heron Island is not far away and dive excursions can be arranged on the Heron Islands boats. The island is a prime breeding ground for Green and Loggerhead turtles and a nesting ground for mutton birds, noddies and other sea birds. Working with Marine Park authorities, the managers have made a strong commitment to creating an environment that provides minimum impact by a very limited number of guests in a fragile environment with an ecologically sound facility.
