South Luangwa National Park offers some of the best game viewing opportunities in Africa. It covers a vast area of some 9,050 square kilometres. Part of the Great Rift Valley, it is bounded by the Muchinga Escarpment in the West and the Luangwa River in the East. The Luangwa River and its tributaries are the lifeblood of the region.
