The Tides Beach Lodge Tanzania is located on the spectacular and little known Swahili coastline near Pangani about 30 minutes flight from Zanzibar. Tides provides comfortable rustic luxury accommodation with lots of activities - or peace and quiet - as required. Its an ideal switch off from a busy life or for a cost effective finale for a family following a safari. Quite simply the surroundings are heavenly.
The cottages with en suite bathrooms are large, airy and light. They are set in and surrounded by palm trees giving a tropical feel and each has its own private sunbathing area directly overlooking the beach.
Laze away the days with a book, good food, comfortable accommodation or snorkel or scuba dive on the pristine coral reefs of the adjacent Maziwe Island Marine Reserve. Swimming, sailing, fishing or kayaking are some of the other activities available. Enlighten your knowledge of the history of the Swahili Coast by exploring, with a guide the friendly historic town of Pangani where time has stood still for half a century. The nearby Game Reserve of Saadani provides some interesting opportunities for day trips and game viewing.
The lodge specialise in fresh seafood, which is caught daily by local dhow fishermen. The lamp-lit dinners, set to the serenading surf-sigh of the Indian Ocean, make for a very relaxing evening. The beach side bar completes this taste of paradise with an exotic choice of lush cocktails, ice-cold beers and tropical juices to slake your thirst and cool your brow.
The hotel is relaxed and friendly many members of our staff have been with the hotel since it opened in 2000. They have a sunny nature and enjoy the company of guests whilst ensuring that they are kept comfortable and happily relaxed.
