Situated 23km north of Hluhluwe in northern Zululand, Thanda Private Game Reserve is a superb new game reserve offering excellent service and accommodation, as well as celebrating the Zulu culture.  There are two camps on the reserve. The Lodge which has nine luxury bush villas. Each spacious villa has a private splash pool and viewing deck, private sala, sitting room, fireplace and a full bathroom with an inside and outside shower. The public area at the main lodge has a lounge, spa, library, dining room, boma, dining deck, wine cellar and cigar bar all overlooking tranquil water features. The Tented Camp is situated on the slope of a hill, with spectacular views of the reserve, and offers guests an enchanting bush experience. The camp now has elecctricity and guests can opt to have their meals in the dining tent or under the stars. Without compromising luxury or service, the tented camp offers an opportunity to get close to the bush and nature. Each of the fifteen luxury tents is insect netted, has a viewing deck and a spacious bathroom with a shower. 4x4 game drives for the big five and guided bush walks within the Reserve. Canoe safaris, boat cruises, horse riding and turtle monitoring can all be organised locally. Either camp combines well with Thonga Beach Lodge.
