Selous Game Reserve At about twice the size of Denmark, the Selous Game Reserve is the second largest wildlife reserve on earth and a World Heritage Site (one of only six in Africa). The Reserve has a varied terrain of rolling savannah woodland, grassland plains, rocky outcrops and dense forest patches, and is second only to the Serengeti in its concentration of wildlife. As well as elephant, there are hippo, wildebeest, hartebeest, sable, kudu, eland, lion, leopard and good opportunities to see wild dog. Walking safaris in the company of an armed guard are a feature of the Reserve and river safaris amongst the crocodiles and hippos are highly recommended. |
