Converted from a tea factory built by the British Raj in the 1930’s The Tea Factory Hotel retains its original appearance on the outside. Within it has been converted to a unique and comfortable hotel whilst retaining many of the original features and equipment in the design over its 4 floors. Situated at an elevation of 6,800 ft. the hotel enjoys beautiful views of undulating green hills of the Hethersett tea gardens, which are home to several rare species of birds, and flora. The rooms, standard and deluxe are comfortably furnished and decorated with neutral colours; each has an en-suite bathroom. There are gardens and beautifully manicured tea plantations where you can walk for miles and chat to the friendly tea workers and farmers The air is clear but sometimes refreshingly cool and there is a wonderful variety of fresh garden produce to see in the plots and terraced fields surrounding the hotel. Guided walks and mountain biking, visits to the old colonial hotels, race course, golf course and cricket grounds in the nearby Nuwara Eliya are available.
