Susuwe Island Lodge, Kwando River, Namibia

Highly Recommended

Susuwe Island Lodge offers you the opportunity to experience a wilder and untouched island of Africa.  Situated in north-eastern Namibia, remote Birre island is surrounded by the Kwando River - a permanent flow of water, which nourishes these delicate ecosystems and sustains magnificent game-, bird- and fish life.  See Africa in privacy, comfort and in wonderfully relaxed fashion.

FACILITIES
The Lodge is built to incorporate the riverine forest - the main complex has lofty canopy viewing decks overlooking endless savannahs, glistening lily-studded wetlands and ancient Kalahari woodlands, as well as a firepit, spacious lounge and dining areas, curio shop and small reference library.  The Lodge offers excellent cuisine - al-fresco style in a variety of romantic settings under the baobab canopy or perhaps a picnic on a wild island - and a fully stocked bar wine cellar.  For special occasions such as honeymoons, anniversaries and birthdays consider a moonlight dinner on a river sandbank, a private candlelit dinner for 2 on your own deck or a champagne brunch at the historical baobab.
