Boutique hotel and accommodation.
Once the home of a Scottish spice merchant, this colonial house built in the 1860’s has been converted into a small hotel which exudes a country house atmosphere. With 7 highly individual bedrooms, it is well known for its fine dining, its privacy, its eclectic collection of artwork, books and furniture. Perched high on a hill yet only a 5 minute stroll away from the centre of the seaside town of Galle, The Sun House offers panoramic views of the Galle and the world heritage site of Fort Galle. The style is relaxed planters, with a day beginning with a hearty breakfast and finishing with a cocktail at sunset.

The house had been cleverly renovated to maintain its colonial charm and elegance. The large central living area is the heart of the house and is a place where you can browse through the eclectic selection of books, sink into a relaxing sofa, while enjoying a pot of up-country tea or perhaps something a little stronger at Dick’s Bar, nominated as one of the best cocktail bars in the world and now Galle’s meeting point of choice.
