Silky Oaks Lodge, Lodge and Spa, Daintree Rainforest, Queensland.

Highly Recommended

The World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest National Park is the oldest living rainforest on earth. Comprised of 12,000 square kilometres, it is of one of the most complex ecosystems on the planet. While most of the Australian continent dried up over millions of years, the topography of the north Queensland ranges and coastline ensured the survival of Australia's last wet tropical rainforests. These forest harbour Australia's greatest diversity of life, some species still retain many of their ancestor's primitive characteristics, some dating back 110 million years!

Floor to ceiling glass doors open onto a wide verandah where a hammock is perfectly positioned to make the most of picturesque garden or river views. The five Riverhouses are set in a riverfront location giving guests spectacular rainforest views against the sounds of the Mossman River. Rooms are generous in size and stylishly appointed. A special feature is an oversized spa bath with uninterrupted rainforest views. All rooms are air-conditioned, and are furnished with ceiling fans, spa, CD player, tea and coffee facilities.
