Selous Safari Camp, overlooking one of the many lakes in the Selous, is designed to blend in with the spectacular natural scenery in what is one of the most photogenic areas of the Selous Game Reserve. Each of the safari tents is on its own raised timber platform, affording guests lovely views of the African bush.
The camp has the prime position at the centre of the unique riverine and lake complex, with one of the highest concentrations of African wildlife and myriad birdlife. There are no fences and no artificial modifications to the natural fauna and so animals wander freely through the camp. FACILITIES The camp has a swimming pool in each of the seperate camps and both look out over Lake Nzerakera. Chefs prepare the finest cuisine from a well-supplied kitchen. Meals are complemented by a good selection of wines and there is a well-stocked bar.| No. of Bedrooms | The accommodation is in luxury light and airy tented cottages: 6 in North Camp and 7 in the South Camp. All tents have their own electricity, bathrooms and outside showers. The rooms are insect proof and each has a good sized wooden verandah from where one can often see game very close. | | Activities | The lodge offers a really good choice of game related activities. You can walk through the bush with a game scout and guide, drift down the mighty Rufugi river in a boat to see the hippo, crocodile, ancient riverine vegetation and spectacular bird life or take a 4x4 game drive in an open vehicle with a tracker and guide. Fly camping is available, although should be booked in advance. |
