A special area has been set aside in the Selinda Reserve especially for walking safaris. The area is located along the Selinda Spillway, a water course linking Botswana's Okavango Delta to the Linyanti Swamps. The walks take you along time-worn trails, through riparian forest and open plains. Typically, guests undertaking walking safaris commence their safari at one of the permanent camps (Selinda or Zibalianja), then break away onto the walk, which ends up three days later, at the other permanent camp for the last night. In total, this is usually a five day safari. On safari you will stay at the Mokoba and Tshwene trails camps. There are usually 4 persons on each walk, but private groups of up to 6 persons can be arranged. You will be accompanied by a fully armed trails guide with tracker. WILDLIFE Walking safaris bring you closely in touch with nature. Expect to see elephant, lion, cheetah, wild dog, varied plains game and great birdlife. Your guide and tracker will introduce you to the smaller creatures and stalk you up on the big game. Night game drives seek out the nocturnal animals.
