Savanna Private Game Reserve is situated in the western sector of the Sabi Sand Reserve, bordering on the Kruger National Park. The "tented" suites combine the romance of a tented roof and draped inner ceiling, with the sophistication of a permanent structure that ensures absolute luxury and privacy. Savanna traverses over 10,000 hectares of pristine African bushveld and offers a unique and diverse African wildlife experience. Frequent sightings of Africa's big game occur during early morning, or late afternoon and evening game drives. Lion, elephant, buffalo, cheetah, hippo and crocodile, plus a multitude of other game and over 450 different bird species may be viewed from the comfort and safety of the open game drive vehicle. Experienced and knowledgeable game rangers and trackers conduct the game drives. The late afternoon game drive is interrupted for sundowners to witness an African sunset and experience a moment's peace and solitude in the wild. After breakfast or lunch, short walking safaris are offered to discover the beauty and fascination of Africa's flora and smaller fauna. FACILITIES Central facilities comprise an outdoor swimming pool, a dining room, lounge, bar and open air boma, all overlooking a waterhole where some of Africa's most impressive wildlife come down to drink. Full English breakfasts and lunches are served on the open-air verandah. Dinner is served either in the dining room or in the boma, warmed by a roaring log fire.
