Sabuk Lodge is an exclusive getaway on the edge of the Laikipia Plateau. This stunning open-plan lodge looks out over the gorge of the Ewaso Nyiro River and the Laikipia Plains beyond. Sabuk is the perfect escape from the stress and pressure of modern living and a real wilderness experience is offered, concentrating mainly on walking and camel trips amongst wild game. You can go 'fly camping' in your own special camp, situated by the river, where you sleep in a shade-netting tent, looking up at the stars and moon. It is perfect for families and children are most welcome as Sabuk remains a family home. Guest cottages are secluded; each a unique design, open fronted with generous double or twin beds, hand carved wooden furniture, en-suite bathrooms with flush loos, hot showers and sumptuous deep stone baths with amazing views. Early mealtimes, and a child "look out" service and big day beds and cushions for siestas make this a restful haven for families on safari. TRANSFER Approximately 5-6 hours by vehicle from Nairobi, Sabuk is only an hour's charter flight from Nairobi to the Muridjo airstrip, or you can take the daily scheduled flight to Nanyuki and then transfer from there.
