Periwinkle Lodge is a modern beachfront guesthouse on a quiet suburban road, behind Robberg Beach, Plettenberg Bay, (access to beach is opposite the guesthouse). There is plenty to do, all within a short driving distance. For golfing enthusiasts, Plett offers 2 superb courses and further afield at Knysna & George - both towns offer world class courses. Whale & Dolphin Discovery Cruises are a highlight or you can watch from your balcony or over breakfast. Go for a 2 or 4 hour walk on the Robberg Peninsula for an unforgettable experience. Kranshoek, Natures Valley & Tsisikamma National Park are all in close proximity. Monkeyland Primate Sanctuary also offers visitors safaris conducted by experienced rangers where you can expect to see many species of monkeys as well as a large variety of forest dwelling birds The unique and most exciting feature of this area is the abundance in marine mammals in the bay which is flanked by two marine nature reserves and therefore rich in food for the resident whales and dolphins. During July to September every year, Southern Right Whales migrate to this part of the Indian Ocean to calve. At other times there are organised boat trips to see Brydes whales and dolphins.
