This small luxury Lodge is located in its own private game reserve on the high plateau of the Pakamisa Mountain in northern Zululand. From its elevated position it affords breathtaking views over the evergreen valley and plains of the Pongola River and the surrounding mountains. Access to the reserve is restricted, enabling guests to enjoy the exclusive experience of natural African bushveld with its abundance of wildlife and exotic vegetation. Guests can expect to see leopard, giraffe, zebra, waterbuck, red hartebeest, warthog, bushpig, kudu, nyala, impala, bushbuck, common reedbuck, mountain reedbuck, grey and red duiker, steenbuck, klipspringer, baboon as well as many smaller mammals, predators and reptiles. The bird life, too, is prolific and varied. The architecture of the lodge is Mediterranean in style with solid brick walls and high ceilings to the rooms. It is elegantly furnished and decorated with an eclectic mix of African and European art and antiques. Accommodation is in eight spacious suites, individually styled after an African animal, a theme picked up in valuable paintings and local artefacts. Each tastefully decorated suite, comprising a bedroom, lounge, deluxe-bathroom (bath, shower, two basins and separate loo), wardrobe and own veranda, is fully equipped with in-room electronic safe, mini-bar and tea/coffee facilities. Each suite is large enough to accommodate up to 2 extra beds. The lodge has a comfortable living room, large library, cocktail bar, terraces to take in the stunning views and a large rock pool. There is a gourmet restaurant where the cuisine, the wines and the liquors are of the highest international standards.
