Pakamisa Horse Safaris is based at Pakamisa Lodge, a small luxury lodge located in its own private game reserve on the high plateau of the Pakamisa Mountain in northern Zululand. Access to the reserve is restricted, enabling guests to enjoy the exclusive experience of natural African bushveld with its abundance of wildlife and exotic vegetation. The lodge is home to an impressive Arabian Horse Stud and horse-back safaris through the Game Reserve provide guests with a unique and unforgettable experience. The horses were originally born and bred in Andalusia, Spain and were transported to Africa by Pakamisa's owner, an internationally renowned Arabian expert. The horses are thriving, and the first generation of African-born Arabians are already galloping across the endless pastures. All horses are worked under saddle, and riding excursions can be happily arranged with the entire herd for guests with equestrian interest. An elegant but comfortable lounge and veranda at the Pakamisa Stables invite riders and their friends to enjoy pre-ride drinks and snacks as well as a delicious dinner in a very special setting at the end of a day in the saddle.
