Small and up-market Orpheus caters for just 42 guests on an exclusive island.  Your Orpheus journey begins with the 25 minute charter flight from Townsville, over the waters of the Great Barrier Reef. It is a great way to begin, you have the feeling that you are truly leaving the world behind and you are headed to a place that is casual, unpretentious and offers minimal fuss and maximum care! Meals are served by the ocean - a la carte breakfasts, picnic hampers or alfresco lunches and exceptional menus highlight tropical fruits, local seafood and exotic delicacies. Many of the island activities are included – motorized dinghies so that you can take your picnic to a quite location, use of paddle skis, catamarans, canoes, local snorkel trips, guided nature walks and tennis. The few optional extras are drinks from the bar, game fishing, scuba diving and trips to the outer Reef. FACILITIES Style Small Exclusive Island Retreat Accommodation Orpheus is truly boutique sized in that it has only 21 rooms - the Retreat rooms are a studio style and have a private patio while the Nautilus Suites are much larger and have a huge private patio and separate lounge and bedroom area. All rooms have a personal spa, air-conditioning, CD player, mini-bar and other conveniences and all are just a few steps from the water’s edge. Dining Dining is relaxed, the chef prepares delicious tropical fruits, local seafoods and exotic delicacies with flair and imagination. Start the day with an a la carte breakfast, continue later with an alfresco courtyard lunch or perhaps a gourmet picnic hampers and enjoy a seven course dinner menu.
