Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge is located on Lemala Hill on the uppermost, eastern rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, a World Heritage Site, in the volcanic highlands of northern Tanzania. The crater forms part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area which covers 3,200 sq. miles. The Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge is the only tourist development on the eastern rim of the crater and thus offers guests unique and spectacular views down into the crater floor and of the sunsets over the western horizon, also it has its own access to the crater floor so avoiding the crowds in the mornings. Ngorongoro Sopa is 3 hours by road or 40 minutes by air from Arusha. FACILITIES The lodge has a restaurant, bar and coffee shop, and direct-dial satellite telephone facilities and satellite TV. The swimming pool is situated on the very edge of the crater itself. Guest shops stock a wide selection of curios, gifts, clothing and other items.
