Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge is an old colonial style lodge in a unique setting, overlooking the lake and beautiful indigenous forest on the slopes of Mount Meru. The Lodge, which is close to Arusha National Park and only 30 minutes from Kilimanjaro International Airport, is the ideal base for a safari. The snows of Kilimanjaro form a splendid backdrop and a sundowner on the verandah while watching the changing colours of the glaciers is an unforgettable experience. Ngare Sero remains cool and is an ideal place to stay on arrival or after a safari to the dry plains. If you really fancy something out of the ordinary and a bit special, then Ngare Sero is the place for you. 
The lodge was originally a fine old German farmhouse built at the turn of the century. Thick walls, heavy timber beams and period decor impart comfort and charm.
The gardens contain a profusion of trees and flowers. 200 species of birds have been recorded and troupes of colobus monkeys inhabit the forest and grounds. The lodge offers riding and has a lake stocked with trout for fly-fishing. Day trips are available to the Arusha National Park.
