Ndutu Safari Lodge is a traditional safari lodge constructed of stone and thatch set amenest acacia trees. The lodge is in the perfect location for the annual migration and looks out over Lake Ndutu and the short grass plains of the southern Serengeti.
There are 34 stone and thatch cottages all offering comfortable but relatively simple accommodation with en suite bathrooms. The lodge provides a very good base for game viewing activities over the plains, marshlands, lakes and woodlands. The Ndutu area is famous for the large herds of wildebeest, zebra and gazelles that migrate in and around Ndutu from December to May annually to give birth. This great natural gathering is watched by the attendant predators thus ensuring an enthralling view of the circle of life in the African bush. This is also a marvellous time to see the great numbers of migratory birds such as storks, plovers and great birds of prey. From June through October, the dry season, the area attracts resident animals, such as elephants, and huge flocks of birds to the lodge for water. Giraffes and impalas browse among the twisted trees, and all the cats - big and small - can be seen. Just a short drive from the lodge, Olduvai Gorge cuts across the plains and down to the roots of humankind. Here you can walk among the fossil beds where Louis and Mary Leakey discovered clues to our earliest ancestors. Find Similar Properties |
