This camp was designed to celebrate nomadic cultures around the world; the Mongolian Gers or Yurts, the Navajo tepees, and our own Maasai bomas. The outcome of this heady mix of culture, style, comfort and wilderness, is the most amazing camp you will ever see. The 12 bed “yurt” camp continues to move between north & south Loliondo to give you the best of what this stunning area has to offer. Although the Serengeti park boundaries officially define the Serengeti itself, the eco-system goes way beyond and encompasses all of the Loliondo area. The landscape and game viewing is spectacular, with lots of resident game and stunning private campsites which highlight the beauty and amazing diversity of this area. From December to June, the camp is located in the open plains of Piyaya, & partners with the village community. This area is bordered by the Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Gol Mountians, and Sanjan Gorge. Here, resident game is excellent, and the migration will periodically pass through the area. From mid-June to December the camp partners with the Ololosokwan village community in the north Loliondo area. Bordering Kenya’s Maasai Mara to the north and the Serengeti National Park to the west, this area also offers a great mix of resident game, and is excellent walking country with a dramatic scenery of rock kopjes and woodlands. The emphasis in both these areas is on walking safaris, and night drives, neither of which are possible with the Serengeti itself, and also on cultural visits with the Maasai. | Style | Celebration of nomadic cultures | | Air/Con | No | | Dining | Yes | | Children | Over 8 years | | No. of Bedrooms | 6 | | Pool | No | | Activities | Game drives, bush walks, picnics, village visits | | Price Range | $530.00 per person per night |
