A beautiful lodge offering five exquisite villas in The Grampians, Victoria.  The stunning views from either Meringa Springs' main lodge or its five spacious and stylish villas are more than enough reason to include the Grampians in your Victorian itinerary. Looking out across meadows dotted with grazing kangaroos towards Mount Difficult (the outline of which is cleverly evoked by the lodge's rakish roofline), you find yourself far from the urban world. Meringa's quietly opulent rooms are rich with timber floors, high ceilings, deeply comforting beds, stone fireplaces, double spas and double showers. Each villa has a spacious deck and the main lodge verandah is the natural setting for an evening drink or two. FACILITIES Style Stylish Lodge Dining Breakfast is served in the dining room, but lunches are not offered, unless a picnic is pre-arranged.  Dinner will include a small selection of local produce prepared either by Paul Widmer (your host) or his daughter or perhaps a visiting chef.  As Paul is European there is strong European influence in the menu.  Children Guests over the age of 12 are preferred. Accommodation There are five villas all are very spacious, beautifully appointed and enjoy wonderful vistas of Wartook Valley, Mount Difficult and the Asses Ears.  All villas have a separate living room that opens onto a large private sun-deck and spacious bathrooms with double spa baths. Facilities include air-conditioning, ceiling fans, fireplace, modem access and minibar. Activities The Grampians National Park is renowned for its rugged mountain scenery, spectacular wildflower displays, a wide range of outdoor recreational opportunities, and a wealth of Aboriginal rock art sites. The Grampians are a series of five spectacular sandstone ridges that create an impressive landscape of peaks and valleys. There are lookouts with stunning panoramic views as well as a number of picturesque waterfalls. The park is also home to a profusion of native animals and birds - kangaroos, koalas, emus, wedge-tailed eagles and more. Meringa Springs can arrange a local guide to host a private day of touring which can be tailored to specific interests – wildlife, photography, bush-walking, adventure sports, fishing, horse back riding etc. Location Approx. 3.5 hours drive west of Melbourne. A popular circular journey is – Melbourne / Meringa Springs / Port Fairy and return to Melbourne along the Great Ocean Road.  Meringa Springs is 6 hours drive east of Adelaide.
