Loldia House, built in the Second World War by Italian prisoners of war, nestles under ancient Acacia trees on the shores of Lake Naivasha, the Great Rift Valley's highest and purest lake.  The lodge is an ideal place to relax and taste the pleasures of Kenyan country life and explore the Great Rift Valley.  The view from the house is stunning, over the garden and across the lake to Mount Longonot.  The garden is full of indigenous plants and wonderful flowers and trees and wild animals roam freely here and on the farms 6500 acres.  In the evenings hippo munch quietly by the waterside.  Guests may ride on the farm to see the gazelle, zebra, waterbuck and birdlife, or go on an evening game drive.  Boat trips are also available on the lake for bird-watching and visits to Crater Island, a private game sanctuary.  Excursions are provided by the lodge to the nearby Hells Gate National Park with its hotsprings, spectacular canyon and abundant wildlife, as well as trips to nearby flower  and vegetable farms, and the local school.   Day trips are available to the lakes Nakuru, Elementita and Begoria, as well as Lake Nakuru National Park for excellent game viewing of white and black rhino, baboon, zebra, lion, leopard and plains game. The original character of the house has been maintained, comfy chairs surround the fireplace in the sitting room, the dining room is candle lit at night and the deep and shady verandah has sofas to relax on.  In the main house there is a choice of en-suite double rooms, with original furniture, and in the gaden are cottage rooms and also the specially built Loldia Cottage which has its own sitting room, fire and panoramic lake views.  Superb meals are served under the trees or in the dining room.  Credit cards are accepted and there is a small curio shop.
