Wilderness Trails is situated in the wildlife-rich Eastern corner of this excelent game conservancy and remains the Craig family home. The lodge, the home of Will and Emma Craig, sleeps 16 people housed in 8 luxury and beautifully decorated cottages situated in the gardens. Each large thatched cottage is very comfortably furnished with a sitting area and bedroom with ensuite bathroom. There is a big fireplaces (its some times cool in the evenings on the plateau) and a private verandah with open views to the valleys and hills beyond. Guests use the main house for meals in the dining room or out on a large shaded terarce. The home farm is fertile with natural springs, home-raised livestock, and a 5-acre organic garden all of which is transformed by skilled chefs into healthy and delicious food. There is a pool and tennis courts. Rides and camel walks and safaris are available together with the normal game viewing activities with qualified guides. A professional guiding team leads guests on customized daily safaris and educates them about flora, fauna, animal behaviour, conservation, Lewa history, and more. Wilderness Trails is an all inclusive safari experience (room, full board, wine/beer and all activities. Other excursions that can be arranged at an additional charge include: Guided tour by air over the Conservancy and Mt. Kenya with a stop for trout fishing in a high-altitude lake, and 5-Day walking safaris with camels through Lewa and nearby Il Ngwesi WILDLIFE This is one of the very few places in the world where you will see such a remarkable variety of animals. Experienced naturalist guides enjoy sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm with guests. While you are here you may see, everything from elephant to dikdik, including the big five Elepahnt, leopard, lion,buffalo and rhino,three endangered species - Rhino, Grevy's Zebra and Sitatunga and countless plains game and birdlife.
