A charming enclave of stone cottages strung along a secluded bay, La Reserve is a popular and well-established resort devoted primarily to relaxation. Days on the beach are the prevailing theme, although recreational facilities include a new swimming pool, as well as canoeing, snorkelling and twice-weekly boat trips. The air-conditioned accommodation comes in the form of 14 bungalows and three colonial-type houses containing 12 'villa' rooms and four luxury suites. Four-poster beds, minibars, tea/coffee-making facilities and patios or verandahs are standard throughout. Afternoon tea is a daily treat, evening cocktails are served in the old 'Creole House', whilst a choice of international or Creole cuisine awaits in the jetty restaurant. Evenings tend to be low-key, with local bands enhancing the romantic ambience. (Please note that seaweed does tend to cover the beach, usually between December and February).
