Hidden among the acacias on the banks of the Athi River, Kilalinda has been built with your complete peace and privacy in mind. You can relax by the crystal pool, stroll the Athi's beautiful banks, or tour the game rich wilds of Tsavo in one of the open topped Land Rovers. And for incurable romantics, there are the sunrise breakfasts and sundowners on a panoramic platform nestled high in the boughs of a giant baobab tree. Located in south eastern Kenya, on the border of Tsavo East National Park, the Lodge is situated on the banks of the Athi River.  It looks out over the Yatta Plateau and on a clear day, Mt. Kilimanjaro can be seen to the south. The Lodge is surrounded by well tended and beautiful gardens that contrast with the arid Tsavo countryside FACILITIES The main social area consists of a generous dining room with sufficient space for sixteen people and an open lounge and bar with stunning views of the river and the pool. Kilalinda takes great pride in providing first class cuisine.  Most of the fresh vegetables are grown on a nearby farm.  All the bread, cakes and pastas are homemade. With sufficient notice, the menus can be varied from traditional to exotic! TRANSFER Kilalinda can be reached by road or by air. It is three and a half hours from Nairobi by road, or a 40 minute flight from Nairobi by private charter. No. of Bedrooms Accommodation is in six cottages, each individually built and with private, generous showers.  Each is furnished to a very high standard.  One of the cottages is much larger and has its own Jacuzzi / plunge pool and small bar.  It is perfectly sized to accommodate private, executive conferences. Activities Bush Drives in the 2000 acre sanctuary are conducted in specially modified, open top Land Rovers.  In addition, drives into the Tsavo East National Park can also be arranged. Other activities include:   Walking - Guided walking excursions in this area are often the best way to see the bird and animal life.  Walking routes around the sanctuary allow you to experience the variety of flora and fauna that is on offer. Bird watching - Whether on foot or by vehicle, Tsavo and the surrounding areas are some of the best bird watching areas in the country. Fishing is available on the river. River Trips can be organized in inflatable rafts.  This is an ideal way to see many of the birds in the area.
