Masai Mara National Reserve The Masai Mara is one of the best known wildlife areas in Kenya. The superb wildlife and Africa as it has been for thousands of years - is a secondary spectacle to the Mara's annual migration of wildebeest. The sight of more than a million of these creatures moving as a great mass across the savannah is one of the most breathtaking sights in nature. The actual migration does not last very long and its start is impossible to predict accurately. Nevertheless visitors to the Mara in August through September are certain to see the great herds. However, all year round the Mara is rich in resident wildlife and, combined with a gentle climate and scenic splendour, is one of Kenya's most popular game reserves. |
Day 6 This afternoon you will be transferred to the airstrip for the scheduled Air Kenya flight to Nairobi departing at 1600. On arrival in Nairobi you will be met and transferred to stay at The Fairview for one night.
Day 7 This morning you will be transferred to the airport in time for the Air Mauritius scheduled flight departing at 1550. On arrival in Mauritius at 2105 you will be met and transferred to stay at The Hilton for the next 6 nights. Mauritius Mauritius is an island covering approximately 1,865 square kms and comprising: 330 kms of beautiful coastline (almost entirely surrounded by coral reefs), a central plateau and impressive mountains. The central plateau rises to a level of some 6,000 metres and is marked by extinct volcanic craters, and crisscrossed by rivers, streams and waterfalls.
Mauritius is situated in the South West Indian Ocean, practically on the Tropic of Capricorn, endowing it with a very pleasant subtropical climate. The climate is fairly acceptable to everyone and the heat is never unbearable. December through March is the best time for diving, when the waters are at their clearest; June through August is best for surfing; and October through April is excellent for big game fishing, when the large predators feed close to shore. |
Day 13 This afternoon you will be transferred to the airport for the Air Mauritius overnight flight to London Heathrow departing at 2215.
