Impalila Island Lodge, Chobe River, Namibia

Highly Recommended

Impalila Island Lodge is situated at the confluence of two mighty African rivers, the Chobe and Zambezi and at the meeting place of four countries - Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana.  Impalila Island comprises the north-eastern tip of Namibia and lies just 70 kilometres west of Victoria Falls.  The surrounding region is an amazing mosaic of waterways, floodplains and bushveld - host to exceptional birdlife, superb game viewing and outstanding fishing opportunities.  Apart from luxurious accommodation, culinary delights, and a belief that guests should be able to choose how they spend their leisure time, a wide variety of activities is offered.

FACILITIES
The main complex, built to incorporate two massive baobab trees, includes a swimming pool, lounge, dining and bar area, curio shop, small reference library and very spacious deck areas.  The Lodge offers excellent cuisine - al-fresco style in a variety of romantic settings under the baobab canopy or perhaps a picnic on a wild island - and a fully stocked bar wine cellar.  For special occasions such as honeymoons, anniversaries and birthdays consider a moonlight dinner on a river sandbank, a private candlelit dinner for 2 on your own deck or a champagne brunch at the historical baobab.
