Guests at Huab Lodge have voted this little paradise a winner in Namibia’s Best Lodge category every year since the lodge opened in 1994.  It is located in the northwest of the country between Khorixas and Kamanjab on the Huab River in a very remote situation.  The area offers total peace and tranquillity as well as dramatic scenery and interesting geology.  The Huab Conservation Trust is active in rehabilitating the land and in bringing back wildlife which naturally belongs there.  The area is not recorded as being malarial. FACILITIES The main building is an enormous thatch roof with open sides so you feel as though you are outside but well in the shade!  There is a cozy seating arrangement with a reference library.  Meals - imaginative cuisine with an African tendency, and a choice of South African wines and Namibian beer - are enjoyed with your hosts at the family table.  A permanent coffee and tea bar is laid out.  The Lodge has a swimming pool, a natural thermal wallow with soothing minerals and adjacent cool pool, a small curio shop, and offers reflexology and aromatherapy massages.  TRANSFER  Driving times (approximate): from Khorixas or Kamanjab - 90 minutes; from Swakopmund - 5 hours; from Windhoek - 6 hours.     No. of Bedrooms Accommodation is in eight spacious, stone and thatch bungalows with a large private patio, all tastefully and practically furnished and with en suite facilities.  The airy rooms have two king size beds and large windows with views across the Huab, tea and coffee making facilities, mosquito nets and a ceiling fan.
