Situated in the excellent Manyeleti sector of the Kruger National Park this small tented safari camp offers very comfortable en suite accommodation in large tented cottages. The camp is 5 hours drive or 1 hours flight from Johannesburg. Honeyguide Khoka Moya has first class big five game viewing and guiding. Honeyguide Khoka Moya offers an authentic African experience without sacrificing luxury, safety or comfort. Accommodation is in twelve luxury tented cottages carefully placed to maximize privacy and shade. The tented cottages are furnished with comfortable contemporary furniture and have double or twin beds made up with fine cotton sheets and down duvets and each tent has an en-suite double shower and separate loo. There is a private verandah in front of each tented cottage.
Children activities
Honeyguide Khoka Moya Camp offers an educational program for children of all ages. Parents wishing to visit a luxury private camp are able to have the peace of mind that their children are welcome and cared for. The children's program is mainly safari-orientated, sharing the knowledge and the wonders of Africa, and also includes an activity centre, supervised by the camp staff, offering a variety of activities such as beadwork, cookie making, drawing and reading. The centre is stocked with a variety of animal and nature related movies, toys as well as a small library aimed at a younger readership. The camp also runs short 1 hour drives for the children after breakfast where time will be spent looking at some of the small wonders of the bushveld. The Khoka Moya swimming pool has a children's area and we can supply inflatable arm bands if required. The lodge has a very flexible menu and makes great efforts to provide children's food at convenient times. |
The tents are huge and certainly large enough to accommodate a couple of extra beds for a family party if required. The camp is friendly and welcoming with excellent guiding, tracking and general bush activities as required. The central buildings are made of corrugated iron and aged planks, recycled from a previous wooden structure, which house the central sitting room, dining room and bar areas overlooking an open atrium where meals are served around a log fire. Green lawns flow through to the swimming pool and an outside bar - its all very relaxed and easy. Game viewing is undertaken twice a day in open landrovers with a guide and tracker. Good varied game is found in this area which adjoins the Kruger National Park. Bush walks are also available but a 12 +age restriction applies to most walking safaris, at that at the camp managers discretion. The area is frequented by the Big five: elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino together with other predators and plains game.
