Situated on the western shore of Lake St Lucia and adjoining False Bay Game Reserve and the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park lies Hluhluwe River Lodge. WILDLIFE Hluhluwe Umfolozi Park offers excellent game viewing, including the "Big Five", while the False Bay sandforest is the home to one of Africa's smallest antelope, the Suni, and the shy red and grey duiker. Nyala, impala, kudu, zebra, vervet monkeys, jackal, aardvark and bushpig all occur in the area. Hippo and Nile crocodile are found in the lake whilst otter and water mongoose scour the shoreline for food at night. The area is also home to 318 species of birds.
FACILITIES The main lodge facility houses a lounge, dining room and bar (with )satellite TV, and an outside boma where meals are served under the African stars. Well lit paths connect the rooms to the main lodge. The Lodge has a well stocked library. There is a secluded swimming pool in the garden.
