Emily Moon River Lodge is small, exclusive Country House, situated high on the southern bank of the Bitou River, only 4 kms from the unspoiled beaches, shops and restaurants of Plettenberg Bay.  The Lodge has a unique outlook over the Bitou Valley and Wetland with the winding Bitou River running through it.   There is abundant wild bird life with flocks of geese and ducks, water birds of all sizes and descriptions, riverine bush that attracts many species of birds, and the brightly coloured sun birds that come in large numbers to feast on the nectar from flowers in the neat colourful gardens.     Accommodation is in nine spacious private chalets, all individually designed and decorated with traditional African artefacts, and having fully ensuite facilities and a viewing deck overlooking the river.  Hearty breakfasts are served in the sunny dining area or out on the sundeck.  The lodge has a popular restaurant, open to non-residents, which serves lunches and dinners. Picnics are also available.  The property is licensed to conduct weddings, and beside the lodge there is a lawned garden and large rustic hall for receptions. There are numerous hiking trails and walks at the Robberg Nature reserve, Tzitzikamma Nature Reserve or on the long stretches of unspoilt beaches nearby.  Two Golf Courses are very close by, and horse riding, whale and dolphin watching, bungee jumping, glider trips and lots, lots more can be easily arranged for you.
