Situated in the heart of the Waterberg and nestling at the foot of a rocky mountain, the lodge overlooks grassland and a waterhole where plains game and white rhino often graze. The Welgevonden is a private game reserve. It controls access, does not allow private cars and limits the number of guests on game drives at any one time. It is home to zebra, giraffe, wildebeest and all the common plains game species of southern Africa. Expect regular sightings of white rhino, elephant, lion and brown hyena and occasional sightings of leopard, cheetah and buffalo. There is also a great variety of birdlife and plant species. Activities include game drives, bush walks accompanied by an armed guide and night drives. The lodge accommodates a maximum of 10 guests in five luxurious thatch and stone lodges with beautifully designed bathrooms and private views over the valley. The central lodge is tastefully decorated and has a fireplace, sitting area, dining room and wide verandah. Gourmet meals are served in the boma, dining room or on the verandah. There is plunge pool with deck. | Style | Small relaxed safari lodge | | Air/Con | No | | Dining | Yes | | Children | No | | No. of Bedrooms | 5 | | Activities | Game drives and night drives.
