Eagle Island Camp at Xaxaba, which means 'island of tall trees', is a water-based, tented camp situated in the Central Okavango Delta. The wetlands of the Okavango are a treasure chest of wildlife and natural wonders. The Delta is technically a swamp but the water is remarkably clear and free of impurities. As well as being home to hippo, it is also heavily stocked with fish. No surprise, then, that this area boasts the highest concentration of fish eagles on earth. The plethora of food attracts every variety of bird with a hearty appetite for fish, including herons, cormorants, pelicans, darters and storks. TRANSFER
