A large and lush island, the vegetation here is largely untouched and is home to a diverse and beautiful natural ecosystem featuring an ancient tortoise colony, perfect for exploration both on foot or by complimentary mountain bike. The resort is blessed with a freshwater pool and Coconut Spa, floodlit tennis court, watersports and diving centre. Culinary options range from Le Veloutier, serving specialty seafood and creole cuisine, to privately arranged under the stars dinners. Fishing Desroches is known for it excellent big game fishing with hard fighting fish such as wahoo, kingfish, tuna, sailfish, marlin, dorado, bonefish, giant and bluefin trevally, green and rosy jobfish and a large variety of grouper present. Boat charter, complete with rods tackle and bait are available for fishing near to Desroches and to the neighboring islands. Traditional bottom fishing, trolling, vertical jigging, dropshot and salt water flyfishing are all offered subject to season and sea conditions. The hotel runs a strict catch and release conservation policy with the exception of fish caught for the hotel restaurant and consumed by guests.
