Desert Nights Camp, the only luxury desert camp in Oman, is an ideal base for you to spend some time in the desert. With a backdrop of spectacular craggy mountains and surrounded by a sea of dunes and crystalline wadis it is indeed an enthralling location, in particular considering that it is only a two hour drive away from Muscat. The camp grounds covers 10-acres of silken sands in a secluded wadi 11kms in to the Wahiba Sands Omani desert. There are 30 luxurious Bedouin style tents (in fact they are extremely comfortable air conditioned private cottages with en suite bathrooms constructed partly of canvas and partly of mud bricks). Accommodation is available in huge family suites, sleeping 4, with two en suite bedrooms and a private sitting room and courtyard with fire or  deluxe Tented suites sleeping 2.All rooms have bathrobes and bathroom slippers Individually controlled air conditioning, ta/coffee making facilities, a Mini bar, complimentary mineral water and a cosy sit-out area with views of the desert and dunes. The central buildings contain the Two Dunes restaurant and the friendly Oasis Bar. Activities Whilst here you can enjoy a gentle camel ride at sunset or take a more modern form of transport and go dune bashing in the golden red sands of the Wahiba. Alternatively relax in the fully air conditioned rooms and central buildings where there is a good library and bar. In the evenings there is often a camp fire around which guests relax and watch the night sky of incredible clarity or listen to interesting Arab music played by local musicians. Other excursions available with a private driver and guide are: A visit the intriguing Wadi Bani Khalid (natural springs) and enjoy the juxtaposition of deep aqua colours with the greys of the surrounding sandstone ridges. Immerse yourself in history at the old fort in Mantrib, visit the local Souq for exotic souvenirs or absorb Oman culture at a Bedouin tented family house (very interesting).
