Capella Lodge - Lord Howe Island, New South Wales

The Best

A tiny gem of a lodge, Capella encapsulates Lord Howe's natural beauty.  Capella Lodge has just nine guest suites. Guests are treated to personal service, award-winning Pacific cuisine, and from every suite a spectacular view of the lagoon, the ocean and the mountains. If you can tear yourself away from the view you will find your suite is spacious and furnished with king-size beds and premium linens. Thoughtful touches are provided too - snorkel gear, beach bags or backpacks and beach towels.

Indulge in a gourmet breakfast and a 3-course dinner featuring freshly caught seafood, organic island produce, and specially farmed meats. Join other guests on the Terrace for evening drinks as you watch the sun sink into the South Pacific or relax in the Kentia Lounge by the open fire.  Capella Lodge has a swimming pool, restaurant and spa.

Until its discovery in 1788, Lord Howe remained completely uninhabited and untouched.  Today, the island is celebrated as a World Heritage site and one that limits visitor numbers to a maximum of only 400 at any one time.   This pristine and little known island with unspoilt beaches, the world’s most southerly coral reef, tracts of bushland, rare plants and tall mountains provides a relaxing and secluded getaway. Just 11km long and barely 2km wide, most of the island is covered by natural forests and the entire island is surrounded by a Marine Park. The sub-tropical climate produces warm summers and mild winters.
