| No. of Bedrooms | Guests are accommodated in one of twelve suites, located within four beautifully appointed lodges, each with fully screened verandas for enjoyment of the sweeping views. Each lodge is air-conditioned, has its own fireplace and is fully equipped with modern amenities. From crisp bed linen to cosy thick house robes and spacious living areas, every detail provides for comfort. The main homestead includes a formal dining room, living room and extensive bar and cellar. All are furnished with a mix of contemporary style, classic Australian antiques and notable artworks. | | Dining | Burrawang’s chef creates outstanding cuisine, ensuring that mealtimes are a treat. From fine dining in formal surrounds to casual alfresco style he uses only the freshest quality produce and many of the ingredients come straight from the gardens of Burrawang. Burrawang boasts an impressive wine cellar offering a wide selection of Australian wines. The homestead’s bar is the ideal place to enjoy a cool drink, play billiards or chat around a glowing fire. | | Activities | At Burrawang you are encouraged to explore and relax in the beauty of Australia's outback. Tour the historic cattle station by quad-bike; spend time with the cattlemen; take a canoe and paddle through the swaying gum trees and tranquil waterways; keep an eye out for kangaroos as you glide along the Yarrabandai billabong and in the evening star gaze through the telescope atop the purpose built observation tower. For those that like to keep active there is a tennis court, you may try your hand at archery or head to the local golf course for a round. The homestead boasts a sparkling pool as well as a sauna but in our opinion the ideal place to relax is the verandah where you can reflect on the open skies and endless views. Wildlife includes birdlife at Leslie Lake, dingoes, kangaroos and wallabies and up to 500 buffalo are resident on the station. Fly to Port Keats with Franz and spend time with the aboriginal community there; go on a bush tucker walk, catch mud-crabs in the tidal flats (take them home for dinner) or buy locally produced artwork. Franz is a fully qualified and licensed chopper pilot and can take guests elsewhere in the region, notably over Lake Argyle and the Bungle Bungles. Enjoy a Bullo River Gorge boat cruise - a private piece of wilderness, aboriginal rock paintings, a walk or a picnic on the sandbanks. |
