The seven tastefully restored rooms have kept their original character, whilst offering modern amenities, such as en suite bathrooms and A/C. The roof terrace has exceptional and romantic views of the town, the palace immediately behind, the pretty town, with its cooling blue-painted houses, and the Jait Sagar lake below. On passing through the high, arched entrance, the atmosphere is bright and fresh, while retaining the building's historical character. The floors are covered with beautiful decorative lime tiling, alcoves hold scented roses, and a striking staircase leads up to the bedrooms on two levels. They are all very comfortable, with pretty fabrics and stylish contemporary shower rooms, each one s an example of loving attention to detail with carefully chosen pieces and personal touches. You definately need to stroll around the small town soaking up the atmosphere in the colourful bazaars just a few minutes walk away. We will provide you with a wonderful guide who will tell you all about the stepwells that are an incredible feature in this medieval town. In the centre of Bundi, you will find the Raniji Ki Baori, one of the largest step wells in India. Built in 1699 by the Rani Nathavatji, it is 46 meters deep and has wonderful carvings showing the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu. Royal ladies used stepwells so that they could bathe in privacy, but they also provided a good form of water storage for the area. After wandering around town you could climb up to the fort and and get a kite's eye view of the surrounding area. Or arrange a cookery lesson given by the the owners mother, she will take you to the market to buy the ingredients and then teach you to prepare wonderful Indian food.
