A delightful newly-built hotel in a classic colonial style on the site of an old boatyard right on the Cochin waterfront. The port is busy with ferries and fishermen but this is not intrusive and it does not spoil the hotel's location. All the rooms are either Sea or Courtyard facing, and suites have 4 poster beds so high you need a foot stool to retire gracefully! The suites have large sitting rooms with fabulous waterfront views over the gardens and swimming pool. Fine beds, fine bathrooms, fine linen, fine designs and a very nice efficient friendly atmosphere. (It is worth pushing the boat out for a suite overlooking the Port, if you can). Please be aware that you may be woken by the Muezzin calling the faithful to prayer, but that's part of the atmosphere. The hotel has a private launch for cruises and transfers. There are nice common areas with reading, TV and billiard rooms surrounding a central shaded courtyard. The food is well presented and offers a wide choice of delicious Syrian, Portuguese, Dutch and Keralan dishes, reflecting the Port's rich history. This is an ideal hotel to spend a couple of nights on arrival or departure or to use as a base from which to explore the area. Recommended, and combines well with sister hotels Marari Beach on the coast and The Spice Village in the Western Ghats. | No. of rooms | 22 | | Air/Con | Yes | | Dining | Yes | | Style | Boutique Hotel
