Ant's Nest, Waterberg, South Africa

The Best

One of our favourite properties in Africa and sister lodge to Ant's Hill.
Ant's Nest is a unique bush home situated in the malaria-free Waterberg region of South Africa's Northern Province.

Ant's is generally available on an exclusive basis. However at certain times of the year it is available on a shared basis and rates vary accordingly.

Ants Nest Pool & Gazebo

Lying in a natural amphitheatre, the original homestead has wide verandahs and a classic African bush atmosphere. The luxurious en-suite rooms accommodate a maximum of only 10 guests. Outside there is a wonderful thatched covered chill-out spot furnished with large sofa beds for those in need of a siesta or respite from the sun, or you can cool off in the expansive pool. The lodge is ideal for a small family party with children or a group of friends. The staff are exceptionally friendly and very adept at creating just the right activities for your party's particular style of holiday.

FACILITIES
The main house, which is surrounded by a verandah, has a cozy sitting room with open fireplace, small library, adjoining dining room and 5 bedrooms and bathrooms. Massages are available in your room or in the gardens.  Excellent meals are enhanced by the different settings: breakfast out in the bush, followed by mid-morning brunch/lunch, afternoon tea, a hill top sundowner and a 3-4 course evening meal  around a campfire  under a starlit African sky...perfect.

NEW - Bush Camp - Ant Baber also has just recently got exclusive use of the Lapalala Game Reserve, approximately 40 mintues from Ants Hill.  This huge private reserve is the ultimate in wilderness experience in South Africa.  You can stay here at Ants Bush Camp and explore the reserve with your own guide - rock paintings, fishing, guided walks, river swimming and stunning views make this place special.  The Bush Camp is a simple tented camp but with all the trimmings that you would expect at Ants Nest.
