One of our favourite properties in Africa and sister lodge to Ant's Hill. Ant's Nest is a unique bush home situated in the malaria-free Waterberg region of South Africa's Northern Province. Ant's is generally available on an exclusive basis. However between 7 Jan-21 March, 20 Apr-12 July, and 1 Sep-14 Dec it is available on a shared basis and rates vary accordingly.
Lying in a natural amphitheatre, the original homestead has wide verandahs and a classic African bush atmosphere. The luxurious en-suite rooms accommodate a maximum of only 10 guests. Outside there is a wonderful thatched covered chill-out spot furnished with large sofa beds for those in need of a siesta or respite from the sun, or you can cool off in the expansive pool. The lodge is ideal for a small family party with children or a group of friends. The staff are exceptionally friendly and very adept at creating just the right activities for your party's particular style of holiday. WILDLIFE The reserve is one of diverse topography and vegetation, naturally sustaining the widest possible variety of game. There are over 15 species of antelope and white rhino, elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra, kudu, roan and sable. An abundance of bird life, both native and migratory, can be found in the Waterberg and in the lodge's indigenous gardens.
