With a name meaning ‘peaceful place’, the very first Aman resort commands its leading status within the portfolio of luxury Asian retreats. Amanpuri is located within a halcyon enclave set deep in a coconut plantation overlooking the Andaman Sea. Interspersed throughout this shady grove is a mixture of Pavilions and Thai Villa Homes. The Pavilions, which according to their location enjoy ocean and garden views, all feature a private terrace, outdoor sala and separate bath and shower. The resort’s crescent-shaped white-sand beach is located at the foot of a cascading sweep of stone steps leading from the resort’s 27m main pool, restaurants and bar. FACILITIES Style Luxury Retreat - Aman Resort Dining The Terrace restaurant offers casual dining and features Thai and European specialties, and The Restaurant serves Italian cuisine. Both restaurants are located beside the swimming pool. Set just behind the beach, Naoki is Amanpuri's newest restaurant which serves Chef Naoki Okumura's original French Kaiseki - combining the best of French techniques with a Japanese sense of artistry. A cocktail bar and lounge seating is also available at the Beach Club. Room service is available in the privacy of the pavilions and outdoor salas. Children Child prices are available on request. These are connected by a series of elevated walkways which lead to the reception area and exotic pool and the sweeping stone steps down to the beach. Activities The Aman Spa features six spacious Thai-style spa pavilions offering an open, light-filled space of wood and glass with private steam room, shower, bath, dressing area and an outdoor meditation sala. Healing or traditional treatments can be enjoyed.
