When Gary & Sheryl Summers first moved to the Aire Valley, the house they bought bore no resemblance to the beautiful homestead that now overlooks the River Aire Valley near Johanna’s Beach. Perfectly located between tall eucalypt forests, and sub-tropical rainforest of Cape Otway, and the spectacular limestone coastal scenery of Port Campbell National Park, the guesthouse is the ideal base for exploring Victoria’s Great Ocean Road. The nearby forests harbour some spectacular waterfalls, usually a short rainforest walk from the road. The Cape Otway lighthouse is perched on the southern point of the Cape, a beacon for ships on a coast that is littered with early wrecks. The area is also known for its large koala population.
